price transparency
production: This is the average percentage of the sales price we pay the tailors to produce one piece. Our garments are handmade in Germany or in a small family factory in Italy, which explains higher production costs.
fabrics: We are very picky when it comes to choosing the right fabrics. We keep searching until we find the softest and most beautiful materials and therefore pay higher prices. The prices also depend on the fabrics themselves. Some are very special and hard to get and are therefore more expensive than more common fabrics like organic jersey cotton.
material: These costs include sustainable labels, threads, rubber bands or buttons.
packaging: We make sure our packaging is sustainable and climate-friendly. Still, we want it to be something very special for you to receive a MIRYAM package which is why we include small cards, recycled tissue paper and eco friendly label stickers.
Influencer marketing: As we are still a small label, we would love to gain more prominence in order to inspire many more women to buy sustainable fashion. Working with Influencers includes samples for them, Instagram stories or posts and Influencer collections.
tax: We pay 19% sales tax according to German law. This does not include income tax.
company: The surplus (again: no income tax included) is used to pay freelance people a fair price (f.e. models, photographers, webdesigner, tax consultant…). We also invest it in pattern-grading and sampling for new collections and save some more to reserve fabrics. Some profit is then left so our small team can make a living and hopefully grow in the future.
